I have a 2000 dodge 2500 with the nv4500. I recently bought a smarty touch and put it on my truck at level 7. A few days ago I figured I would bump it up to level 9. As I’m trying an error occurred and it said that it would have to re write the ecm back to stock. As I tried to do that it wouldn’t even load the percent bar just throw a error 1 code. Tried unhooking the battery cables, updating the firmware, hooking my battery’s to another truck to make sure I had plenty of voltage, and even tried another smarty power cable.. nothing. Truck won’t start and wait to start light is flashing. I have to pull my camper to Texas Monday for work and this has me stressed to the max. Please help

Hi Tyler,

Communication time out with error 1.

Usually one would expect a cord to be damaged. Please try holding the connection cable firmly and see if that helps!

Thank you!

Brian

Will a damanged wire going from the monitor to the box cause any problems?? This one has a gash or two in it I guess from pulling wire thru my dash.

Have you tried after replacing that cable?  It's a micro USB and you should be able to get one at most electronic stores.

  • Thanks 1
