  1. Does anyone have an opinion with actual results of settings on the SMARTY JR. I have a 2006 Cummings w/ Automatic and "completely stock"..... I currently get around 16 MPG..... a far cry from my 1995 w/ Automatic and "completely stock" that gets around 22-25 mpg I bought the Smarty Jr. with Mileage in mind but can not find a good setting ....... last tank on SW3, Torque 3 was only 17 mpg please help Kasper

  3. Please respond with your opinion: Earlier I posted a similar question on my stock 06 5.9, automatic and got this response from anonymous reader: "Without gauges and on a stock automatic I always suggest Torque no higher than 4 and SW1 or SW2 max". "The power potential on SW3 could be too much for the stock automatic depending on driver style". Currently I am running SW3, but continue to be light footed, unless I am up and running some times over 35 mph before i get on it. Is this your view as well...... staying at SW1 or SW2 max...!...? kasper
  4. Based on my limited knowledge of this website..... please explain "SW" BTW: Currently I am using Performance level 3, Timing level 2 and Torques level 4 this is based on the "MENU" as show on my Smarty Jr. Kasper
  5. Trying to get optimum settings for my Stock 2x4, 06, 5.9 Cummings, w/ Automatic all standard equipment..... NO GUAGES - MPG 15-17.2 max (wish i had my old 95, 5.9 with 22-26 highway MPG) Currently i drive modestly... No throttle to the floor for me..! My biggest challenge is negotiating a 4 mile stretch of uphill driving every single morning then down-hill, then in-town driving. Once a year I drive a 2000 road trip with family (no towing involved - well not yet) I have tried different settings but some seem to make no difference (or should i say I don't feel there is a difference) This is all news to me - getting hounded by my 17 year old to get the smarty junior upgrade, so I will stop complaining..! Anyone with similar or full understanding of what I need to program the ECM to.....? please respond in king............................ KASPER

    HelP :)

SORRY FOR THE LATE RESPONSES: I get pretty busy around here sometimes on a Monday It is AUTOMATIC FYI: SW1...? Why? Should i not be running performance 3, to get the most HP out of the engine....? I just tuned to Performance 3 Timing 2 and Torque 4...... Regular driving doesn't seem to be much of a change except for the MPG But, going up and over the HILL (4 mile long run) there seems to be a little better of throttle response, but downshifting on a long up hill curb or should i say if i put my foot down to engage lower gear is a little less responsive. Go Figure...? Kasper

Sorry Smarty Heads, thought I had the know how to understand how to program: Just received my Smarty Jr. for my 2006 Dodge Cummings 5.9..... after reading through all the parameters I have no clue which program or adjustment to use. My Dodge is basically stock (all around). My driving habits are taking long trips and in-town. But one thing i am looking for is more performance on hills. Just to leave my property and go to town is a 4 mile uphill / downhill drive, then into traffic. I am looking for better performance on the hill mostly but also better milage as well in town. can someone help guide me thru what setting would be best for me. regards Kasper

    Help with tuning

Hello there fellow Smarty Jr. Heads: I need a little help with being a first time user...! I too have a completely STOCK Dodge 06 5.9 and have only modified the Air Filter Box for more air imput. I installed the Smarty Junior, but can not for the life of me understand what I am doing. I too only drive standard roads, cruise at 70 mph and rarely put the hammer down. I want better throttle response as everyday I climb what we call here "THE HILL" (a long 4 mile drive up and over a mountain) Any suggestions to what I should tune to. Please help me Kasper
